Our flagship programme
Safe Futures™
Safe Futures™ is Her Best Steps’ flagship preventative programme. It equips young women aged 18 to 25 with the knowledge, confidence and practical tools to navigate early adulthood before challenges become crises.
What it is
Safe Futures™ is a multi-session programme delivered in small groups by trained facilitators. It's practical and honest: equipping young women with the knowledge, confidence and tools to navigate adulthood safely, from first serious relationships to first independence.
Built on the Four Foundations
Relational
Healthy relationships, relationship safety, consent, boundaries and recognising unhealthy behaviours.
Internal
Confidence, self-worth, emotional wellbeing and identity.
Family
Support systems, communication and healthy connection with those around us.
Financial
Financial confidence, independence and planning for the future, including recognising financial control.
Every participant finishes with her own Her Map™: where am I now, where do I want to be, and one next step.

How it works
- Small groups, the same trusted rhythm each session, so it feels familiar and safe.
- Delivered by trained facilitators who hold the space and listen, and signpost rather than counsel.
- A named safeguarding lead behind every session.
- A simple before-and-after measure, so the change is visible.
What success looks like
Safe Futures™ is designed to help young women leave with:
- Greater confidence in recognising healthy and unhealthy relationships.
- Increased understanding of consent and personal boundaries.
- Stronger support networks.
- Greater financial confidence.
- Improved confidence navigating early adulthood.
Our first phase
We're working with young women, expert contributors and founding partners as Safe Futures™ begins its first phase of delivery and evaluation, shaped by Her Voices and measured from day one.
Want to be part of shaping it?
Young women can join the waitlist to take part. Organisations can become founding partners and help pilot the programme.
