Her Voices is our listening and co-design initiative: bringing young women together to share their experiences, in their own words, and shape everything Her Best Steps builds.
What it is
A listening day built around honest conversation: small circles in the morning, reflections across the four foundations in the afternoon, and a personal close where each woman starts her own Her Map™. No teaching, no pressure to share, just being heard.
Some things are easier to say in a room that's listening.
After our first event, this page will carry their voices, shared with consent, in their own words.
Why it matters
Most programmes for young women are built on assumptions about what they need. Ours won't be. What young women tell us at Her Voices directly shapes the Safe Futures™ curriculum, our workshops and everything that follows. It's how we make sure the support is built with young women, not for them.
What Her Voices feels like
A space where young women can speak honestly. No pressure. No judgement. No expectation to have everything figured out. Just real conversations that help shape something bigger than any one event.
How it works on the day
- Small listening circles on relationships, confidence, family and money.
- Four short reflections, one for each foundation.
- My First Her Map: where am I now, where do I want to be, one next step.
- Everything captured anonymously and with consent, and a named safeguarding lead present throughout.
What happens after
We share back what we heard, publish the themes in our In Her Words report, and insights from Her Voices continue to shape the ongoing development of Safe Futures™. And for women who want to stay involved, there are pathways into future events, the Safe Futures™ pilot and our Future Leaders graduate roles.
